We all have our share of memories that make us feel nostalgic instantly. We all feel the wave of emotions flowing through us as soon as those beautiful memories tickle us.
Some include the smell of newly purchased books or stationery items, especially erasers, playing with paper boats during the rainy season, and having our favourite ice cream or beverage during hot summer play days.
Out of all these, we all agree with enjoying the yummy licious taste of our favourite soft drinks during matches or movies, especially in the hot season-summers!
One such famous brand of soft drinks was Campa Cola, which we might have seen in old- school movies. The brand came to India and led the market during the 1970s-1980s. It was created by the Pure Drinks Group in the 1970s to give India an unforgettable taste.
But with time, as Big shots captured the industry, Campa-Cola decided to make a comeback in the most iconic way- Rebranding!
Are you excited to know the insights about the brand from the best digital marketing agency like us?
If yes, then let’s begin!
History Of Campa Cola!
Marvellously chilling our taste buds, Campa Cola came to India about 46 years ago. It was founded by the legends of that time, the Pure Drinks group.
As the group was a leader in the soft-drink industry, they introduced Coca-Cola In India in 1949 and were the only manufacturer.
But soon, Coca-Cola was requested to leave India due to certain reasons. That’s when the Pure Drinks group and Campa Beverages Pvt Ltd together rocked and ruled the market for good 15 years.
Ruling Point!
Is it even a brand for real without ruling the market? No, right? So Campa had it too.
The venture then launched Campa Cola to leverage the absence of big shots. The brand chose the tagline “The Great Indian Taste” to depict nationalism. Its top-selling flavour was Orange named Campa Orange, along with the brand logo on the bottles.
The two dominators during the 1980s were Campa Orange and Rush, with massive plants spread across Mumbai & Delhi.
Market experts came back!
During the late ’90s, the entire game for Campa changed when market experts such as Pepsi and Coca-Cola re-entered the market. The interest in Campa Cola saw a downfall. It was a major one because, between 2000-20001, the bottling plants were shut down.
Despite being closed, it made small sales in 2009 for the love of people who demanded it.
Turning Point!
Every business has to go through a roller coaster ride, but the winner is the one who fights back for survival.
In 2022, Campa Cola was taken by Reliance Industries. The Reliance group launched the 3-variants of the soft drink, namely (Orange, Lemon, and cola)
The return of Campa Cola with an Impressive Rebranding!
The Campa Cola is coming back in a whole new-transformed Avatar to India.
The rebranding speaks volumes about the brand’s whole new level of confidence & boldness.
The purple colour, combined with its category-marking red colour, gives it a “wow” look like never before.
The font used by the brand depicts its courage to make a big move. The element (Arrowhead) used in the alphabet “A” signifies the stronger urge to upscale and rise as a beverage brand that exceeds people’s expectations and sets a benchmark for competitors.
The eye-appealing purple colour strikes the chord of balance between colours such as blue and red. The brand’s inclination towards the red colour, which is a category colour for players in the industry, shows the deep research behind the rebranding and expert knowledge of the rebranding agency in the field.
